REMEMBERING SARDINES (Fundraising Event)Fri, 12/01/2017 - 7:00pm to 10:00pm
ARTS FIFTH AVENUE, 1628 5th Ave., Fort Worth, TX 76104 (817) 923-9500. Arts Fifth Avenue has been designated as Fort Worth's Premiere Performance Venue by the Fort Worth Star Telegram in 2017. The upcoming event entitled "REMEMBERING SARDINES" (a tribute to the legendary Italian restaurant that featured "Live Jazz Nightly") is first and foremost a fundraiser to help Kenny Hardee, one of Sardines' former managers who is in desperate need of a liver transplant. Although Mr. Hardee is employed and has medical insurance, out-of-pocket costs for this operation add up to a daunting $100,000. (!) Please join Gracey Tune, former Sardines pianist Johnny Case, multi-instrumentalist Joey Carter and many others for this most worthy cause. Gracey Tune, Deb Wood and Kitty Case will provide Italian food for all attendees. Also, a silent auction will be held offering numerous collectible items, including some real surprises!
Price of admission is $25 each. Dinner is included in the cover charge. Starting time is 7:00 PM and performers will include Johnny Case who was house pianist/bandleader at Sardines for 28 years from September 1983 until the restaurant closed in November of 2011. The music at Sardines was acoustic jazz six nights a week. Other musicians who will perform at this fundraiser include three multi-instrumentalists: Joey Carter, Keith Wingate and Chris White. Additional performers will also participate.
